Case Study 1 - new bathroom and access arrangements

This was a project for Bolton At Home to provide adaptations through a Disabled Facilities Grant for an elderly gentleman in Daubhill, Bolton.

The property was an end of terrace and the spec was to widen the front door within the existing opening including a level access thresher for wheelchair access. We fitted a composite door and ramp to enable wheelchair access.

Internally, we widened two doorways and created a level access shower with care screens. The old bathroom had a shower over bath and a bulkhead which restricted the position of the drains to the toilet. We removed the bulkhead and re-located the drains to the w.c., which provided more space in the bathroom.
